FAQs

Doing Good Leeds is the name of this website platform, and the name of the partnership between Voluntary Action Leeds, Forum Central and Leeds Older People Forum. The partnership has come together to deliver support and advocacy for the third sector in Leeds funded by Leeds City Council and Leeds ICB.
Yes, with thanks to our funders. We give support directly to VCSE organisations and emerging groups.

We can help you – find and apply for funding, find free training and resources, connect with likeminded people and those working in similar areas of need or location.

We can help statutory partners engage with the VCSE sector and people they support, drawing on decades of knowledge and experience in coproduction and person-centred approaches.

Volunteering is free – and gives you valuable experience. You can register and apply for roles completely free, and get help from real people at the Volunteer Centre for free too.

All our networks are free to be part of, reach out for an introduction to the right member of the team.
Doing Good Leeds doesn’t run a ‘membership’ in of itself. There are three types of ‘membership’:
You can register as a user of the Doing Good Leeds platform to get email round-ups of DGL posts and add your own items to share.
You can be a member of a network or forum – which one(s) will depend on what is relevant for you. Go to each of the network and forums pages for more information and how to join.
Organisations can be official members (with voting rights) of each of the deliver partner organisations: VAL, Forum Central, LOPF. Go to About us to find out more.
Yes! You can add your events and news to Doing Good Leeds in your user account. Everything that’s relevant to VCSEs in Leeds is welcome to be shared.

Accounts are set up around your organisation so that multiple people can add and manage posts on behalf of an organisation. You can also add training courses that you run or want to promote.

Everything that’s added to Doing Good Leeds gets shared in a weekly round-up to subscribers. You can manage the topics you want to be notified about in your DGL user account.
